Wings is one of everyone's favorite foods. They can come in a great deal of varieties ranging from spicy to sweet and even though they can be messy, they are simple to eat as all you have to do is pick them up. When dealing with frozen wings, you don't have to rely on prepackaged flavors. So, if you want to make your frozen wings a certain way, there are plenty of recipes that can help you. Here are some great frozen wing recipes for all tastes.
How to Cook Frozen Wings
1. Brown Sugar Wings
Total Time: 45 minutes
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 cps. of catsup
- 1 cp. of packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. of cider vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. of Worcestershire sauce
- Pepper
- Salt
- 6 pounds of frozen chicken wings
Directions:
- Whisk together the catsup, brown sugar, cider vinegar and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl. Add the salt and pepper for seasoning. Put a cup of this mixture to the side to use when cooking the chicken.
- Arrange your oven racks so that they are in the top and bottom thirds of the oven and preheat to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven is preheating, use aluminum foil to line two baking sheets with rims.
- Place the wings on the baking sheets and toss them using the cup of the sauce mixture you had placed to the side.
- Bake the chicken for between 30 and 35 minutes, making sure to rotate the baking sheets as well as toss the chicken at the halfway point. When the chicken is opaque throughout, it is done. After removing from the oven, toss the wings with a half a cup of the sauce and serve with the rest.
2. Slow Baked Wings
How to cook frozen wings? This recipe takes longer but the flavour will surely seep in.
Total Time: 2 hours 40 minutes
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 5 pounds of frozen chicken wings
- 10 ounces of soy sauce
- ½ cp. of white sugar
- ½ cp. of brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. of honey or molasses
- Cayenne pepper to taste (1/8 teaspoon; optional)
- 5 cloves of garlic (peeled)
- 1 piece of fresh ginger (peeled)
Directions:
- Using a blender, mix the soy sauce, sugars, honey or molasses, garlic, ginger and cayenne pepper.
- Either use a disposable pan (10x12 inches) or line a regular one with foil. Place the frozen chicken wings in the pan and then pour the blended mixture over them.
- Place the pan in the oven at 250 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for between 2 and 2 ½ hours being sure to turn and baste them every 30 or 40 minutes. You can tell the wings are done because they will be tender. Remove the wings from the sauce and serve.
3. Sweet-And-Sour Chicken Wings
Total Time: 2 hours 10 minutes
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 2 hours
Ingredients:
- 60 frozen chicken wings
- 10 ounces of grape jelly
- 12 ounces of chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 16 ounces of sweet-and-sour sauce
- ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon of powdered ginger
- 7.5 ounces of baby food (peaches)
Directions:
- Take a shallow roasting pan and line it with heavy foil. Put the wings into the pan while you place the remaining ingredients in a saucepan and bring them to a boil. Stir this mixture occasionally until the jelly has melted. Then pour three quarters of the sauce on top of the wings.
- Bake the wings at 350 degrees for between an hour and a half and two hours at which point they should be crispy and brown. Make sure to turn and baste them frequently.
- You can refrigerate or freeze both the wings and the sauce, but bring them to room temperature before reheating.
- Brush the wings using the leftover sauce and bake them at 350 degrees for between 20 to 30 minutes at which point they should be thoroughly heated.
4. Hot Wings
Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 5 pounds of chicken wings (frozen)
- A jar of Texas Pete barbecue sauce for chicken wings
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Divide the frozen chicken wings between two cookie sheets measuring 12x9 inches.
- Bake the wings for 40 minutes then drain off the excess grease and baste the wings using the Texas Pete barbecue sauce.
- Bake the wings for 20 minutes then take them out. Turn the wings over and baste the side now showing.
- Place the wings back in the oven for 20 minutes at which point they will be ready to serve.
5. Honey & Orange Sauce Chicken Wings

Total Time: 50 minutes
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds of frozen chicken wings (about 12 pieces)
- 1 envelope of Lipton soup mix (golden onion)
- 1/3 cups of honey
- ¼ cups of water
- ¼ cups of sherry
- ¼ cups of concentrated orange juice (partially frozen; undiluted)
- 1 tablespoon of prepared mustard
- 2 teaspoons of soy sauce
- ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger
- 3 dashes of hot pepper sauce
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cut the tips off of the chicken wings and cut the remaining parts in half (from the joint).
- Take a baking dish (13x9 inches) and blend the remaining ingredients. Then add the chicken, turning to coat it completely.
- Bake the chicken uncovered, making sure to occasionally baste it. The chicken should be ready after 40 minutes, at which point the sauce has thickened as well.
6. Buffalo Wings
Total Time: 45 minutes
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 package of frozen chicken wings
- ¼ to ½ pounds of butter
- (at least) ¼ cup of Louisiana hot sauce
- 1 package of ranch dressing
Directions:
- Melt the butter and add half the package of ranch dressing as well as the hot sauce to the melted butter.
- Dip the wings in the prepared sauce and add the rest on top of them while they are cooking.
- Place the wings in the oven for 35 minutes at 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Serve the wings with the remaining ranch dressing.
